Subject: Engineering Intern Summer 2008
To whom it may concern,
Are you looking for an energetic, hard-working and determined intern for the summer of 2008? Then I am the intern you want to hire. I am a dual degree sophomore student in B.S. Civil and Environmental Engineering and B.A. Economics at Lafayette College, currently participating in an exchange program at Lingnan University - Hong Kong.
My mission in life is to be a great leader of change and through my projects I hope to enhance the quality of life and the environment in the world by providing sustainable solutions to people’s needs. The challenge of new and interesting projects through which I can gain both broad and specific knowledge will keep me motivated. I am conscientious about meeting deadlines and completing tasks unsupervised. Math has always been a valuable strength and programming has helped me develop a structured way of thinking.
I am confident that I will be a great addition to your company because of my unique mix of international background, interests in sustainable engineering solutions and skills I have developed through my activities and coursework. My involvement in many diverse activities has enabled to build up a series of transferable skills such as:
• good communication and presentation skills
• team work and leadership
• critical thinking and problem solving
• time management and coping with multiple tasks
• planning and decision making
Additional capabilities and related experience are listed in the enclosed resume. You can also learn about my profile from my website http://diana.hasegan.com. Upon your request, I can also provide you with references for my experience. I look forward to discussing any available opportunities with you.
Sincerely,
Diana Hasegan
